I’m proud of our faculty and the respect they’ve earned for their research, thought leadership and their devotion to an education that combines a strong academic foundation with a tangible, practical knowledge of the ever-changing business environment. MICHAEL WESSON DEPARTMENT CHAIR MANAGEMENT NEW LEADERSHIP

Dr. Wesson's research interests include organizational justice, leadership, organizational entry, person-organization fit, and compensation and benefits. He has published in Journal of Applied Psychology , Personnel Psychology , Academy of Management Review , and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes . Michael has worked as a human resources manager for a Fortune 500 firm and as a consultant to the automotive supplier, health care, oil and gas, and technology sectors. He previously taught at Texas A&M.

“Dr. D.” has a passion for scholarship that was ignited when she saw the need for rigorous, industry-based research. Her research has appeared in leading supply chain management and marketing journals, and she is frequently used as an expert source in news media articles. Her passion also extends into the classroom, where she emphasizes sustainable business practices that encourage companies to derive profitable business models while addressing the needs of stakeholders in the supply chain.

GLENN RICHEY HARBERT EMINENT SCHOLAR SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT CO-EDITOR ELECT, JOURNAL OF BUSINESS LOGISTICS

Dr. Richey is the Research Director of the Harbert College’s Center for Supply Chain Innovation. There he builds on his strong relationships with industry partners and connects research with practice. Since 2003, he has published more than 80 articles in leading journals and been honored with a number of teaching awards. Before entering academia, Glenn worked in managerial positions in procurement, sales, retail consulting, finishing/ manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics/supply chain operations for Scott Paper Company and Genuine Parts Company’s S.P. Richards Division.

Dr. Connelly's research explores how corporate governance structures, such as shareholders and boards, affect competition and strategic outcomes. He frequently lectures to faculty and students at the most prestigious universities in Europe, Asia and throughout the United States. Editor-Elect of the Journal of Management , he is also former Associate Editor at the Academy of Management Journal . With companies such as Westinghouse and Hughes, he has two decades of experience in engineering and international business.

DAVID PARADICE HARBERT EMINENT SCHOLAR BUSINESS ANALYTICS

Dr. Paradice is the Chair of the Department of Systems and Technology. He has published more than 50 articles and book chapters on the use of information systems in support of managerial problem formulation, and has served on more than 50 doctoral dissertation committees. Before joining the Harbert College, he was on the faculties at Florida State and Texas A&M. He has been a Department Chair, a Senior Associate Dean, a center director, and teaching award winner. He has also served on several corporate advisory boards and worked as an industry consultant.

Dr. Ketchen’s research interests include entrepreneurship and franchising, strategic supply chain management, and the determinants of superior organizational performance. In addition to his academic publications, he has written for The Wall Street Journal and The Hill . Dave is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Pennsylvania State University Smeal Graduate Distinguished Achievement award, the Southeastern Conference Faculty Achievement Award, and Auburn’s Creative Research and Scholarship Award.

JAMES BARTH LOWDER EMINENT SCHOLAR FINANCE

Dr. Barth has authored more than 300 articles in professional journals and has contributed to The New York Times , The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s . He is a Senior Fellow at the Milken Institute, and a Fellow at the Wharton Financial Institution Center. An appointee of Presidents Reagan and George H.W. Bush, he served as chief economist of the Office of Thrift Supervision and the Federal Home Loan Bank Board. His research focuses on financial institutions and capital markets, both domestic and global, with special emphasis on regulatory issues.

Dr. Ferrell is Director of the Center for Organizational Ethical Cultures at Auburn University. President of the Academy of Marketing Science, he has published in the Journal of Marketing , Journal of Marketing Research , Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science , Journal of Business Ethics , Journal of Public Policy & Marketing , and he writes bi-monthly ethics case studies for the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative. He is co-chair of the American Marketing Association Winter Educators conference in 2020. He is also recipient of the Cutco Vector Distinguished Educator award from the Academy of Marketing Science.

JAMES HILLIARD HARBERT EMINENT SCHOLAR FINANCE

Dr. Hilliard’s research interests include investment management, international financial markets, the pricing of options and futures, and managing foreign exchange, commodity and interest rate risk. He has published in The Journal of Finance , Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis , The Journal of Business , The Accounting Review , American Journal of Agricultural Economics , Quantitative Finance , Management Science , and The Journal of Derivatives . He has been President of the Southern Finance Association and past Director of the Financial Management Association. Professor Hilliard recently received the Distinguished Scholar Award from the Southern Finance Association. “an experienced scholar… a diligent steward of doctoral education”

FRANZ LOHRKE LOWDER EMINENT SCHOLAR ENTREPRENEURSHIP

entrepreneurial mindset”

Dr. Lohrke has assisted aspiring entrepreneurs for more than 20 years through his teaching, mentorship, investing, and community service. He has presented papers at national and international entrepreneurship conferences, published articles in several top academic journals, and has co-edited two books on entrepreneurship theory. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Lohrke worked primarily in the hospitality industry, including small and start-up restaurants, as well as banquet services and restaurant management at Walt Disney’s EPCOT theme park.
